AI Music Jazz
Jazz has the richest harmonies here, so the AI chord charts for each jazz song are worth checking out.
3 songs. Create one like this.
On MuziAI, jazz means long, slow songs: the three AI-sung sample songs run 225 to 254 seconds, two sit at 72 BPM, and what makes them jazz is which chords they use (sevenths, ii-V-I movement) rather than how often chords change. This describes MuziAI's three samples, not a rule about jazz.
Measured profile
| Measure | 3 sample songs |
|---|---|
| BPM (min / median / max) | 72 / 72 / 100 |
| Key | Eb, Dm, F |
| Length | 225 / 235 / 254 s |
| Bars (median) | 77 |
| Chords per bar | 1.21 |
| Vocal range | 17 semitones |
| Voice | female 2, male 1 |
| Lyrics | Vietnamese, French, English |
Length is almost exactly bars times 240 divided by BPM. At 72 BPM a bar lasts about 3.3 seconds, so Mưa Đêm Jazz, with 94 bars but played at 100 BPM, ends up the shortest at 225 seconds. At 1.21 chords per bar, jazz sits level with ballad (1.19) and below Lunar New Year songs (1.77) or rap (1.52). The jazz samples do not change chords faster; they change to different chords.
How MuziAI builds this genre
MuziAI puts the tag cluster Jazz, swing feel, upright bass, saxophone, piano, brushed drums at the front of the English style description sent to the singing model, followed by the creator's own picks:
- Mưa Đêm Jazz and Rainy Jazz Cafe: romantic, tender, warm, saxophone, piano, breathy intimate vocals, piano solo.
- Café sous la pluie: sad, melancholic, heartfelt, piano, breathy intimate vocals, slow tempo.
In the sample songs
Mưa Đêm Jazz (Eb, 100 BPM) loops Fm7 Bb7 Ebmaj7 Cm7, a ii7-V7-Imaj7-vi7 and about as standard a jazz frame as there is. It has three verses, three choruses and two interludes; intro, interludes and outro fill 30 of its 94 bars. It is also the busiest harmonically, at 1.7 chords per bar.
Café sous la pluie (Dm, 72 BPM) runs Dm Gm7 C Fmaj7, which from F major reads vi-ii-V-I: still a ii-V-I, but starting on a minor chord, in line with its sad tag. It changes exactly one chord per bar and has the narrowest range, 14 semitones.
Rainy Jazz Cafe (F, 72 BPM) loops F Dm7 Gm7 Ebmaj7 Cm7/Eb F Am7 Dm7; Ebmaj7 and Cm7/Eb bring in E-flat, outside the F major scale. Its form nearly matches Café sous la pluie: two pairs of a 16-bar verse and 8 or 9-bar chorus, then a short bridge. Note that it shares the piano solo tag with Mưa Đêm Jazz, yet only Mưa Đêm Jazz has an interlude. Technique tags are hints, not a promise of an instrumental section.
How to get a better result
- Pick tempo for length. About 75 bars at 72 BPM runs past four minutes; at Medium (100 BPM) it is closer to three.
- To shorten, drop one verse and chorus pair: in the two 72 BPM samples that pair is about 24 bars, roughly 80 seconds.
- To keep the exact ii-V-I, open a jazz song in the sample library and use "Sing new lyrics to this sheet", so your words follow its chords, key and tempo. MuziAI's guidance for that mode is about two bars per line, so a 16-bar verse wants around eight lines.
- For room for saxophone or piano, try writing an [Interlude] into the lyrics in the music generator rather than relying on the solo tag.
Limits
Three songs is a very small sample. BPM follows the tempo setting: the library's 58 sample songs use only six BPM values, and 51 land exactly on 72, 100 or 128, the tool's Slow, Medium and Fast options. So 72 BPM here is the creator's choice, not a property of jazz. The numbers say nothing about timbre or how much the rhythm really swings; listen to the songs in the library.
