2 songs. Create one like this.
On MuziAI, Lunar New Year songs change chords more often than any other genre: a median of 1.77 chords per bar, the highest of the library's 19 genres. But there are only two AI-sung sample songs and they differ in almost every respect, so this describes MuziAI's two samples, not a rule about Tết music.

The two songs have almost the same bar count yet run 210 and 161 seconds; most of that gap is tempo (a bar is about 3.3 seconds at 72 BPM, 2.4 at 100). On chord density, the next genres down are rap (1.52), country (1.48) and children's songs (1.40); pop sits at 1.02 even though the Lunar New Year cluster includes the word pop. Giao Thừa Xa Quê changes 2.06 chords per bar, the most of all 58 samples. With two songs, this may still be chance.
How MuziAI builds this genre
The cluster Festive, Lunar New Year, cheerful, bright, traditional percussion, pop opens the English style description sent to the singing model. The rest is the creator's choice, and here it pulled in opposite directions:
- Giao Thừa Xa Quê: lonely, introspective, quiet, piano, bamboo flute, vibrato, female vocal, slow tempo.
- Tết Sum Vầy: happy, joyful, upbeat, bamboo flute, brass section, choir, call-and-response vocals, duet.
In Giao Thừa Xa Quê the genre says cheerful and bright while the mood says lonely and quiet; what came out is a 72 BPM song whose loop opens on Dm, the minor chord of F major. Mood and tempo pulled it away from the "cheerful" in the genre cluster. Bamboo flute appears in both songs and is also part of the cluster for MuziAI's Vietnamese folk genre.
In the sample songs
Giao Thừa Xa Quê (F, 72 BPM) loops Dm Am7 Bb F C/E Dm Am7 Bb, where the C/E inversion walks the bass down F, E, D. It has no bridge, a short 5-bar third verse, a final chorus stretched to 11 bars instead of 9, and a 15-semitone range.
Tết Sum Vầy (C, 100 BPM) loops C Em Am G6 F G C G, entirely in C major, on a pop template: two pairs of a 13-bar verse and 8-bar chorus, then a 5-bar bridge. Its range is 26 semitones. It is a duet, and five of the library's six duets span 24 semitones or more, so the width most likely comes from combining a male and a female voice rather than one singer covering it.
What they share: a 4-bar interlude right after the first chorus and a 5-bar outro.
How to get a better result
- Decide the mood first. The genre always says cheerful, but mood and tempo steer the song: Lonely at 72 BPM, or Happy at 100 BPM.
- Pick tempo for length: around 68 bars gives roughly 3 minutes 30 seconds at 72 BPM and 2 minutes 40 seconds at 100 BPM.
- For a family-gathering feel, choose a duet with call-and-response; the AI lyricist then adds echo lines in brackets to the chorus. The lyrics writer can draft New Year wishes for you to edit.
- To keep the dense changes of Giao Thừa Xa Quê, open it in the sample library, use "Sing new lyrics to this sheet", then generate in the music generator.
Limits
Two songs with opposite moods: their median (86 BPM, 186 seconds, 20 semitones) describes neither. The library-high chord density may shift as songs are added, and there is no Lunar New Year sample in another language yet. As with every genre, BPM follows the selected tempo: 72 and 100 are two of the tool's Slow, Medium and Fast settings. The numbers cannot tell you whether the traditional percussion comes through; listen and judge.
