AI Music Rap / Hip-hop
Rap needs many words per beat and rhymes at the end of lines. Pick a clear mood when asking AI to write rap lyrics.
2 songs. Create one like this.
MuziAI's Rap / Hip-hop section holds 2 AI-sung sample songs, both with a male voice, both in Vietnamese, both just under three minutes. The takeaway: rap is the densest genre on the site, with more melody notes per second than any of the other 56 samples, yet its two songs take completely different harmonic routes. This describes MuziAI's samples, not the rules of rap.
Measured profile
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Sample songs | 2 |
| Tempo (BPM) | 100 and 128 |
| Key | F major, F minor |
| Length | 172-179 s |
| Bars | 75 and 92 (median 84) |
| Chords per bar | 1.52 (0.99 and 2.04) |
| Melodic range | 22 and 12 semitones |
| Note density | 2.25 and 2.23 notes/s |
| Voice, language | 2 male, 2 Vietnamese |
The figures come from the sheet music (ABC notation) the singing model writes with each song; note density is melody notes divided by song length. At 1.52 chords per bar, rap ranks second of 19 genres, behind Lunar New Year music (1.77). The tempos are only 100 and 128 because MuziAI has three tempo settings (around 72, 100 and 128 BPM), and all 58 samples land on just six tempo values. Read them as the settings chosen, not as rap's natural tempo.
How MuziAI builds this genre
The style description sent to the singing model always opens with Hip-hop, rap vocals, boom bap drums, deep 808 bass. «Đứng Dậy Lần Nữa» (Stand Up Again) adds the Inspiring mood, ad-libs, backing vocals and a mid tempo; «Đêm Sài Gòn Không Ngủ» (Sleepless Saigon Night) adds the Energetic mood, synthesizer, call-and-response and a drum break. A separate measurement on vocals isolated from songs on the site gives rap a low share of sustained notes (0.114-0.190), well below ballads (0.216-0.428): the model really does push rap toward speech.
Inside the samples
Both songs open on the same skeleton: an intro, then two rounds of verse, pre-chorus and chorus, 8 bars each.
«Đứng Dậy Lần Nữa» (100 BPM, F major) loops Dm Bb F C at one chord per bar, with a melody spanning 22 semitones. The back half is a short 5-bar verse, a chorus and a 9-bar outro: 75 bars in all. The same loop drives both cinematic samples and one ballad on the site; what makes this one rap is the drums, the 808 and where the words land.
«Đêm Sài Gòn Không Ngủ» (128 BPM, F minor) loops Fm Cm Db Cm and changes chord twice per bar, yet its melody covers only 12 semitones, the familiar rap habit of circling a few notes. In place of a third verse it has a 10-bar bridge, an 8-bar interlude and a 17-bar final chorus. By tempo, key and synth color it sits closer to the site's two EDM samples (also F minor, 128 BPM) than to the other rap track.
Getting better results
- Pick the tempo for the mood: Mid for storytelling or motivational lyrics, Fast for party tracks.
- Write dense lyrics but label the sections [Verse], [Pre-Chorus], [Chorus]. If you use the AI lyric writer, give it a specific mood: vague rap lyrics are the worst rap lyrics.
- For a more spoken melody, open «Đêm Sài Gòn Không Ngủ» and use the button that sings new lyrics over its sheet music. In one MuziAI test, singing over an existing sheet followed the original harmony far more closely (0.81 vs 0.55 without it).
- Add ad-libs or call-and-response if you want a second vocal layer.
Limits
Two samples, both male, both Vietnamese; no female, duet, English or Slow-tempo rap yet. The sheet music is written by the model itself, so it shows chords and structure but cannot measure flow or how cleanly rhymes land. Listen in the song library before you make your own.
